Belek Travel Guide 2026 — First-Time Visitor Handbook

Belek is the polished, golf-focused, family-luxury side of the Antalya coast. If this is your first time, the practical information here will save you a lot of "I wish I had known that" moments — from currency and tipping to which beach belongs to which hotel.

  1. 1

    Where Belek actually is

    Geography

Belek is a coastal resort area 33 km east of Antalya Airport (AYT), in the Antalya province on Turkey's Mediterranean coast. The town itself is small; the resorts spread along about 15 km of sandy coast between Belek centre and Kadriye/Boğazkent.

    Best time to visit

    Weather

May, June, September and early October are the sweet spots — hot but not extreme, sea warm enough to swim. July–August is peak family season and very hot (35–40°C). Golf travels best in April-May and October-November.

Private transfer is the practical choice — there is no metro or train to Belek. Public buses exist but require multiple changes. Hotel shuttles, when available, are usually expensive and slow.

    Food and drink

    Dining

Most guests eat at their all-inclusive resort, but a night out in Kaleiçi (Antalya old town) or Side harbour is well worth the trip. Turkish breakfast, mezze, fresh fish, kebab and baklava are the local must-tries.

    Tipping & etiquette

    Customs

Tipping 10% is normal at sit-down restaurants if service isn't included. Tipping the driver is discretionary — €5–10 for a transfer or €10–20 for a tour is appreciated, not expected.

Want a private transfer or tour for any of these?

Belek rewards travellers who plan a little — book an early-morning airport pickup, a couple of day trips and your golf tee times in advance, and the rest of the holiday can be entirely lazy. WhatsApp is the easiest channel for any question — we are happy to help with non-transfer questions too.
