Belek's own Blue Flag beach is the closest, just 5-10 minutes / about 3 km from the town centre, with the neighbouring Kadriye Beach a little further west. After that the nearest options are Lara Beach (about 30 km, 30-40 min), Side Beach (about 44 km, 35-40 min) and Konyaalti Beach on the far western side of Antalya (about 48 km, 45-55 min). The celebrated turquoise beaches - Kaputas and Patara near Kalkan - are much further, at roughly 3.5 hours each way.

Most are sandy. Belek, Lara, Side and Patara are all fine golden sand, and Cleopatra Beach in Alanya is a distinctive coarse golden sand. Konyaalti is a pebble/shingle beach - lovely water but hard on bare feet, so bring water shoes. Kaputas is a small cove of fine pebbles and sand, and Cirali/Olympos is a natural mix of sand and pebbles.

Yes, most are family-friendly and Blue Flag certified, meaning tested water quality, lifeguards and facilities - Belek, Lara (in its certified sections), Konyaalti, Side, Patara, Cleopatra and Kaputas all carry it. Belek, Lara, Side West Beach and Cleopatra have shallow, calm, gently shelving water that is ideal for young children. Konyaalti's pebbles are harder on small feet, and at Kaputas the sea deepens quickly close to shore, so children need close supervision there. Cirali/Olympos is calm and peaceful but deliberately undeveloped, without Blue Flag or full facilities.

These are the famous turquoise beaches, and they are a genuine day trip: Kaputas is about 248 km from Belek and Patara about 255 km, each roughly 3.5 to 4 hours each way out west near Kalkan. We recommend a very early start so you get proper time on the beach. Because our price is fixed per vehicle and the driver waits and brings you home, the long day is one simple fare rather than a metered fortune.

Several are. Belek's shoreline, the Side-Manavgat coast, Patara and Cirali/Olympos are all protected Caretta caretta (loggerhead) sea-turtle nesting grounds, generally May to October. Patara and Cirali are strictly protected - no building, and Patara even closes at 8pm in nesting season - while at all of them you should keep off roped-off nests, take litter home, and avoid lights and fires on the sand at night. Kaputas itself has no turtle-nesting association.

It depends on the beach. At hotel and resort beaches loungers and umbrellas are usually included for guests. Public beaches like Belek and Konyaalti charge a modest daily rental. At Cirali some beach restaurants provide free sunbeds and umbrellas if you have a meal there. The wild beaches - Patara and Kaputas - have only seasonal, limited rentals, so it is worth bringing your own shade and some cash, as smaller beaches often do not take cards.
