This guided day tour visits the three most impressive of them, Perge, Aspendos and Side, and breaks up the stonework with a stop at Kursunlu Waterfall and a lunch by the Belkis River. A professional guide explains what each ruin was for, so you leave understanding the cities rather than just photographing them.

The tour runs daily from 08:00 to 18:00. After pickup the guide sets the scene on the drive, then you walk Perge's colonnaded avenue, past the Roman baths and the agora. Side comes next, with its theatre, old houses and the Temple of Apollo standing above the harbour; you get an hour to wander the lanes or find a coffee. A waterfall stop offers photographs and shade before lunch on the Belkis River. The afternoon belongs to Aspendos, where the Roman theatre is so complete that concerts still fill its seats, along with the aqueduct arches and old bridge. You are back at the hotel around 18:00.

Ancient cities mean a lot of walking on marble and uneven stone, so wear shoes with grip and leave the flip-flops at the pool. Shade is scarce at Perge and Aspendos, which is why a hat, sunglasses and sun cream are on the packing list; in July and August start drinking water early and use the hour in Side to cool down in a cafe. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable months for this route. Children aged 4 to 8 pay £25 and under-3s go free, and the waterfall and theatre steps hold their attention better than the columns. Carry lira for drinks, which are not included.
