The experience
The pirate boat trip is the easiest way to give children a full day at sea without anyone getting bored. The ships are purpose-built three-deck galleons, complete with masts, rigging and a crew in costume, and they carry up to 300 passengers with plenty of room to spread out. The route follows the Kemer coastline, where the mountains drop straight into deep, clear water, so the swimming is far better than anything off the Belek beaches. It suits families with primary-school-age kids best, but couples and groups of friends who simply want a lively day on the water enjoy it just as much.
Pickup is at 09:00 and the drive to Kemer Marina takes around an hour and a half. The ship then sails to Phaselis Bay, where you have roughly an hour to swim or wade ashore and wander the ancient harbour streets for a small entrance fee. Lunch is grilled on board and served with soft drinks. The afternoon belongs to the animation team: games for the children, a pirate show and the foam party. Two more hour-long stops at Paradise Bay and Kirish Aquarium Bay round off the day before the ship turns back to Kemer for the bus ride home, with the whole day wrapping up around 16:00.

The trip runs daily through the season, and the sea off Kemer stays warm enough for long swims from May to late October, with late September a quieter and gentler time to go. No minimum age is listed and under-5s travel free; pack arm bands or a rash vest for small swimmers, because the swimming is from the ship in open water. Wear your swimsuit under light clothes, bring a towel, high-factor sunscreen and sunglasses, and carry a little cash for the Phaselis entrance and extras. What happens if we need to cancel or change the date?
Because you pay in cash on the day, there is no deposit to lose. If you need to switch to another date, send us a WhatsApp message as early as you can and we will rebook you, subject to space on the ship. If the sea is too rough for the captain to sail, the trip is called off and we will offer you another day or simply cancel with nothing owed.
What should we bring on the pirate boat trip?
Swimsuit, towel, sunglasses and a high-factor sunscreen are the essentials, and a hat helps on the open top deck. Lunch and soft drinks are included, so you only need cash for the optional Phaselis ticket and any drinks from the bar.
