Antalya Aquarium is the easy answer to the question every family asks midway through a Belek holiday: what do we do that is not the beach? Opened in August 2019 on the Konyaalti side of Antalya, it packs 40 tanks and roughly 10,000 marine creatures into a 15,000 m² complex, with the headline attraction being a 131 m glass tunnel that lets you walk beneath sharks and rays. This half-day tour suits parents with young children, grandparents who want something gentle, couples escaping the midday heat, and anyone who prefers an indoor morning before an afternoon back by the pool.
The bus calls at your hotel around 08:30 and heads west along the coast road, a drive of roughly 30 km with the Taurus mountains rising ahead of you. At the aquarium your guide sorts the tickets, explains where to meet and sets you loose for two hours. Most visitors start with the themed tanks, work their way to the big tunnel and linger there watching sharks pass overhead, then hunt for the sunken ship, the car and the plane on the seabed. Regroup at the bus, and you are back at your hotel by about 14:00.

Because the whole visit is indoors, this is the tour to save for the hottest weeks of July and August or for the odd grey morning in spring and autumn. The tunnel tends to be the toddlers' favourite, so bring the little ones; children aged 3-12 pay £36 and we confirm the infant rate for under-threes when you book. Dress lightly but pack a thin layer, as the halls are cooler than the beach. Is Antalya Aquarium suitable for young children and babies?
Yes, and it is one of the few Belek excursions where small children are genuinely the target audience rather than an afterthought. No minimum age is listed. The tunnel, the shark tanks and the wreck scenes hold a toddler's attention easily, everything is indoors and away from the sun, and two hours is long enough without becoming a slog. Where exactly will you pick us up?
Directly outside your hotel, whether you are staying in central Belek, Kadriye or Bogazkent. When you book on WhatsApp we ask for the hotel name and reply with a confirmed collection time close to 08:30; larger resorts sometimes ask buses to wait at a specific gate, and we tell you which one. Please be in the lobby five minutes early so the bus keeps to schedule for everyone.
Can we cancel or change the date?
Yes. Because you pay in cash on the day, there is no deposit to chase. Message us on WhatsApp at least 24 hours before pickup and the booking is cancelled free of charge, or moved to another date, since the tour runs every day. Later than that we still do our best to reschedule, but the seat may already have been offered to another family.
What should we bring to the aquarium?
Very little. A camera or phone is the one item worth remembering, as the tunnel and the wreck tanks photograph beautifully. Wear comfortable shoes for a couple of hours on your feet, and bring a light layer because the halls are cooler than outside. A small amount of cash covers the optional extra zones, the gift shop and a drink. Sun protection matters only for the walk between bus and entrance.
