The experience
Tahtali Mountain, known to the ancients as Olympos, rises to 2,365 metres just behind Kemer, and the cable car that climbs it is one of the easiest ways to see the Turkish Riviera from above without walking a single uphill step. This excursion is built for guests who want a change of temperature and scenery after a few days on the Belek sand: couples after a memorable photo, families with children who will love the swaying cabin, and older travellers who appreciate that the summit is reached sitting down. If heights are not your thing, the cabin is enclosed and the ride is short.
The minibus leaves Belek at 08:00 on Tuesdays and Saturdays and heads west past Antalya into the Beydaglari National Park. At the base station, about 726 metres up, your guide hands over the tickets and you board the cabin for a ten to fifteen minute climb along roughly 4.35 km of cable. On top there is no fixed programme, just time to wander the terraces, pick out Kemer and the beaches below, and take as many photos as you like. Anyone wanting a hot meal can eat at the summit restaurant before the cabin takes everyone back down and the bus returns you to your hotel by around 14:00.

Pack for two climates. Belek may be sweltering, but the summit rarely gets above 15 C and usually sits around ten degrees cooler than the coast, so a jacket, long trousers and closed shoes are genuinely useful rather than a formality. The sun is stronger at altitude, so bring sunscreen and sunglasses, and a hat for small children. The cable car runs 09:30 to 19:00 from April to October and 10:00 to 17:00 from November to March, though strong wind can close it at short notice; if that happens we will offer another date. Children aged 2 to 11 pay the reduced fare and under-twos go free.

The tour starts at 08:00, and your exact collection time depends on where your hotel sits on the route; we send it to you on WhatsApp the evening before along with the vehicle details. Please be ready a few minutes early, as the vehicle has other guests to collect and a long drive ahead.
What if I need to cancel, or the cable car is closed?
Send us a WhatsApp message as soon as your plans change. Because the fare is paid in cash on the day, there is no prepayment to chase back; we only ask that you tell us by the evening before so the seats can be released. The cable car sometimes stops for high wind or on public holidays; if that affects your date we will tell you straight away and offer the next Tuesday or Saturday, or cancel without charge.
What should I wear and bring for Tahtali?
Think mountain, not beach. The summit rarely climbs above 15 C, so pack a warm jacket, long trousers and closed shoes even in high summer.
