There is no night surcharge when the driver brings you back after the fountains, no scramble for change and no watching a meter climb while the coaster queue empties onto the road.

The family minivan is the workhorse of this transfer. Crystal Waterworld parties tend to arrive with pushchairs, swim bags and a spread of ages, so the eight-seat minivan from 35 € is the vehicle we send most often, with room for the beach kit a day at the aquapark demands. Couples and smaller groups travel in the same van class, the Mercedes Vito from 30 €, because the swim bags come along whatever the party size. The pickup is simple: the driver parks in the turning circle at the main hotel entrance, holds up a name-board and waits by reception. From the lobby you can watch the car arrive without standing out in the Bogazkent sun. Because the resort is set among the pools and slides rather than on a busy strip, there is no kerbside confusion here, and the name-board meet means the family can gather everyone and load the pushchairs at an unhurried pace before the short run down to Kadriye.

A park day for Crystal Waterworld families

Guests who choose Crystal Waterworld come for the water, and The Land of Legends answers with an aquapark of its own alongside the Hyper Coaster and the theme-park rides. From late spring to early autumn the wave pools and slides run all day, so pack the swim things you would take to the hotel aquapark anyway. When younger ones tire of queues, the free-to-walk Shopping Avenue and its aquarium give a cool, dry hour, and park tickets from about £65 per person cover the rides and the water side together.

Staying for the night show and getting home

After dark the dancing-fountain and parade show lights up Shopping Avenue, and because it sits outside the ticket gates you can watch it whether or not you rode all day. It is worth staying for, and the short 12 km hop back to Bogazkent means a late finish costs a family nothing in extra travel time. The driver waits after the show with no night surcharge, so send a WhatsApp message when the fountains die down and the car meets you at the same gate for the run back to Crystal Waterworld.
