Pamukkale is one of Turkey's most photographed natural sites — surreal white travertine terraces formed over millennia by calcium-rich thermal water. Above the terraces sits Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage ancient city with one of the best-preserved Roman theatres in the Mediterranean. From Belek the round-trip drive is around 540 km, and on a group tour bus you would spend 13+ hours mostly waiting for other passengers.
