From Kemer to the park

From Kemer the D400 runs north along the shore, through the tunnels past Beldibi and Konyaaltı, then swings east across Antalya, past the airport turn at Aksu and on to the Belek–Kadriye junction, where the driver leaves the dual carriageway and drops south down Kadriye Yolu to the visitor car park. Door to gate is 90 km in 70 to 90 minutes. The exposed stretch is the city and the Aksu junction, where the 17:00 to 19:00 peak can add half an hour, so a morning departure is the sensible one. Pickup is at your hotel reception, name board out, child seats already fitted.

A trip from Kemer only makes sense as a full day, so use every hour. Arrive for the gates around 10:00 and take Aqua Land and the Tropic Lagoon family zone before the queues build, then the new Waterfly Land slide tower. The Dolphin Land show is included with the ticket, Adventure Land holds the dry coasters for the afternoon, Masha and The Bear land suits toddlers, and the indoor Nickelodeon sections cover the hottest hour. Sunbeds, umbrellas and rafts are free; towels are not supplied and lockers cost extra. Under-4s enter free with ID, and no outside food is allowed.

Stay for the evening, because the best of it is free: Shopping Avenue, the open-air mall along the canal, hosts the Musical Boat Parade, the Chimera Fountain water-light shows and the Wonder of Legends castle finale, usually in the evening — check the day's programme rather than plan around a fixed hour. The driver waits on the car-park side pavement outside the main gate, the same spot as the drop-off. The exit takes 10 to 20 minutes to clear, so we set the pickup about 15 minutes after the finale; at that hour the D400 is empty and the run to Kemer sits at the 70-minute end.

Over 90 km the arithmetic matters. €70, €90 or €120 buys the whole vehicle each way, agreed on WhatsApp before you travel, so a family of five pays €90 for a Vito and the children change nothing. A metered taxi from the Kemer ranks runs the same distance on the clock twice, plus waiting time while you are inside, and comes out far dearer. Excursion coaches from Kemer sell seats per person to a timetable that leaves before the evening shows finish, and no Kemer hotel runs a shuttle this far. A private transfer waits until the finale has actually ended, both directions priced alike.
