From Manavgat to the park
From Manavgat the driver picks you up at your hotel or apartment with a name board and any child seats already fitted, then heads west on the D400. The road passes the Side junction, runs through Serik and drops down to Kadriye Yolu and the visitor car park — 45 km, and the 40 to 50 minutes covers it at almost any hour. In July and August the coaches feeding the Side resorts can slow the first stretch, so we suggest leaving Manavgat by 09:00 to walk through Shopping Avenue and stand at the turnstiles when the gates open around 10:00.
A day trip from Manavgat rewards a full-day plan, because you will not be slipping home for a rest. Take Aqua Land and the Tropic Lagoon family zone while the morning queues are short, then the new Waterfly Land slide tower before lunch. The Dolphin Land show is included with the ticket, Adventure Land keeps its dry coasters for the late afternoon, and the indoor Nickelodeon sections carry small children through the hottest hour or a rare wet day. Sunbeds, umbrellas and rafts are free, towels are not supplied and lockers cost extra, so pack light and bring swim nappies for babies.
Stay for the evening, because the best free part of the site needs no park ticket. Shopping Avenue is an open-air mall with a canal, and the Musical Boat Parade, the Chimera Fountain water-light shows and the Wonder of Legends castle finale all play there, usually in the evening — check the day's programme. For the return the driver stands on the car-park side pavement outside the main gate, where you were dropped. The finale empties the park at once and the exit takes 10 to 20 minutes to clear, so we set the pickup about 15 minutes after the show, or agree a pull-in on Kadriye Yolu.
The price logic favours distance: €40, €55 or €70 buys the whole car each way, agreed before you get in, so a family of five rides for €55 in a Vito and the children change nothing. A rank taxi covers the same 45 km on the meter, and the meter keeps ticking through the exit queue after the finale. Excursion coaches from the Manavgat and Side hotels collect from half a dozen receptions, fix your hours and leave before the evening shows, while the dolmus means a change at Serik and a walk at the far end. After dark, a private car at a known price is the practical choice.
