The experience

The Belek buggy safari is the simplest way to get dust on your boots without leaving the resort area for long. A buggy is a low, open two-seater with a roll cage, seat belts and a proper steering wheel, so it feels closer to a small car than a quad bike. That makes it a good fit for couples, groups of friends and families with teenagers, as well as anyone who wants an adrenaline hit but would rather not balance on a motorbike. The track sits in the Taurus foothills behind Belek, and the whole outing takes about four hours door to door.

Your driver collects you from the hotel and takes you up to the base in the hills. The instructors start with a 20-minute rundown of the controls, hand signals and track rules, then you get another 20 minutes to practise on the flat ground inside the base. Once everyone is comfortable, the convoy sets off on the first stretch of dirt road, with ruts and loose stones to keep you busy. Roughly halfway there is a 15-minute pause at a mountain river to cool off and take pictures, followed by a second off-road section back to base. Total time at the wheel is about an hour and a half.

Good to know

Sessions run every day between 10:00 and 16:00, so you can pick a morning slot before the heat builds or an afternoon one after lunch. Drivers must be at least 16; under-16s cannot take the wheel, but a passenger seat in the same buggy costs £8 and there is no separate child rate. Wear closed shoes and clothes you do not mind ruining, and pack a change of outfit for the ride home. A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen matter in summer, and something warmer is wise in spring or autumn. Phones and cameras stay behind at the base, so do not plan on filming from the seat.

What to bring

  • Closed, comfortable shoes
  • A change of clothes for after the drive
  • Hat or bandana
  • Sunglasses
  • Cash for the tour price and any photos

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Belek buggy safari cost?

The 2026 price is £30 per person for the driver and £8 for a passenger who shares the same buggy, so a couple in one vehicle pays £38 in total. That covers buggy hire, protective gear, the briefing, the instructor and hotel transfers. Photos and videos taken by the base staff are extra. You pay in cash on the day, and there is no separate child or infant tariff.

How long is the tour and how much of it is actually driving?

Plan on about four hours from the moment you leave the hotel until you are dropped back. Around an hour and a half of that is spent driving, split into two off-road sections with a 15-minute river stop between them. The rest goes on the transfer to the base, a 20-minute briefing and a 20-minute practice drive before the real track begins.

Can my children come, and who is allowed to drive?

Drivers must be at least 16 years old, and no driving licence is required because the whole route is on a closed off-road track rather than public roads. Teenagers of 16 and 17 can drive when an accompanying adult is on the trip. Younger children cannot drive, so ask us on WhatsApp before booking one as a passenger at £8. Pregnant women and anyone who has been drinking are not allowed to take part.

Where do you pick up from and at what time?

We collect guests from any hotel in Belek, Kadriye, Bogazkent and Serik. The tour operates daily between 10:00 and 16:00 with a morning and an afternoon session, and the exact pickup time depends on which one you choose and where your hotel sits on the route. Once you book on WhatsApp we send the confirmed time, and the driver waits at the main entrance or lobby.

What if I need to cancel or the weather turns bad?

Because you pay in cash on the day, there is nothing to refund if your plans change; just let us know on WhatsApp as early as you can so the seat can go to someone else. The safari runs every day through the season, and in the rare event that weather makes the track unsafe the operator moves you to another session or date. We confirm any change with you directly by message.

What should I wear and bring for the buggy safari?

Closed shoes with a grip are essential, and old clothes are wise because the dust gets everywhere. Bring a full change of clothes for the drive back, plus a hat and sunglasses for the stops. Protective equipment is provided at the base. Leave your phone, camera and valuables with the staff before you set off, as nothing may be carried on the track; if you want pictures, the base sells photo and video packages.
