A quad safari is the classic Belek adventure for anyone who wants to leave the beach behind for a few hours without committing a whole day. You sit astride a four-wheeled ATV with fat tyres and simple controls, so there is no licence to show and only a few minutes of instruction to absorb before you are moving. The instructors lead the group in a single column at a pace that suits the least experienced rider, which makes it approachable for first-timers, couples and older teenagers riding pillion behind a parent. Confident riders still get their share of loose gravel, dust and short climbs higher up the track.

The bus collects you at the hotel and drives up to the base in the hills behind Belek. On arrival the instructors spend about twenty minutes covering hand signals, braking, spacing and the rules of the track, then hand out helmets and kit. A fifteen-minute practice ride follows before the column sets off. The first leg winds along mountain roads and through forest, and roughly midway along the 20 km route you pull in for fifteen to twenty minutes at a river to cool down. The second leg returns you to base after about ninety minutes of riding, and the bus takes you back to the hotel.

Sessions run every day from 09:00 to 18:00, so you can choose an early slot before the heat builds or a late-afternoon one. Riders must be at least 17; anyone younger sits on the back seat behind a parent, passengers must be 6 or over, and children under 5 cannot come. Pregnant women and anyone who has been drinking are turned away. Wear light trainers that lace up, close-fitting clothes with no loose fabric, a hat and sunglasses, and bring a bottle of water, which is compulsory. Phones and cameras stay at the base for insurance reasons, so buy the operator's photos if you want a souvenir.
