What the extra ten euros actually buys

On most routes the Mercedes Vito costs about ten euros more than a sedan, per vehicle. From Belek the sedan is €15 and the Vito €25; from Antalya Airport the sedan is €25 and the Vito €35. The driver, the fixed price, the free child seats and the cash-on-arrival payment are identical — what changes is the car around you. The Vito carries six passengers instead of four, on proper individual seats rather than a squeezed rear bench, with a higher seating position and larger windows that children rate highly. The sliding side door makes loading toddlers, grandparents and pushchairs far easier in a hotel driveway, and the air conditioning has the volume to cool the whole cabin quickly on an August afternoon. For one price, everybody travels together.

Built for families and everything they carry

A day at The Land of Legends generates kit: swim bags, towels for everyone because the park does not supply them, a change of clothes, snacks for the ride home and usually a pushchair, since strollers are welcome in the park but not rented there. In a sedan that pile shares the boot with your legs; in the Vito it disappears behind the rear seats and the cabin stays clear. The Vito earns its keep most clearly on the airport run. Antalya Airport to The Land of Legends is about twenty-eight kilometres, usually thirty to forty minutes, stretching towards an hour in the late-afternoon D400 peak — and a family landing with a fortnight's suitcases simply does not fit in one sedan. The Vito takes six passengers and their full luggage in a single car for €35, against €25 for the sedan, so nobody splits across two taxis. When to choose the Vito — and when not to

Honest advice saves money in both directions. A couple or a family of four travelling light will be perfectly comfortable in the sedan, and from Belek that keeps the run at €15 — spend the difference inside the park. Choose the Vito when you are five or six, when three generations travel together, when a pushchair and swim bags join the party, or when you simply want space on a longer run from Side, Lara or Antalya centre. Seven or eight passengers move up to the minivan at its own fixed rate in the table below. For evening shows the Vito books exactly like any other car: one fixed price out to Shopping Avenue, a second for the return, with the pickup agreed for about fifteen minutes after the castle finale so the crowd clears first.
